In 2002, we launched as RGK Wheelchairs, Inc. to bring made-to-measure chairs to North America. As demand grew, our mission outgrew a single brand. Today, as 49 Bespoke Inc., we curate a portfolio of world-class products — delivered through a rigorous, athlete-tested fitting process and ongoing service that doesn’t stop at the sale.
The Name “49”
“49” comes from our founders’ jersey numbers: 4 (Reg McClellan) and 9 (Chantal Benoit). Together, they bring 47 years competing at the highest levels — experience that shapes every recommendation, fit, and follow-up.

How the Custom-Fit Process Works
1) Assessment
30+ measurements; lifestyle & goals review. Many advisors are wheelchair users themselves.
2) Design
Measurements captured in CAD; frame geometry and components specified (seat width/depth/height, camber, axle, back angle, caster setup).
3) Build
Hand-built by a dedicated technician (where partner process allows) to ensure precision and consistency.
4) Set-up
Delivery, adjustments, and education for optimal posture and propulsion.
5) Aftercare
Remote check-ins, parts, and performance tweaks over the product life.
