The Companion is designed with accessibility as a priority. For users with limited hand function, the optional “Q” Controls provide an alternative steering method. This adaptive system replaces the conventional throttle and brake with spring-loaded handlebars: pressing down accelerates, while pulling up engages the brake. It is intuitive, responsive, and enables control without the need for grip strength.
The compact design of the Companion facilitates independent use. It can be easily detached and loaded into a vehicle while the user remains seated in their wheelchair. The unit has an approximate weight of 20 pounds.
The Companion’s compact design and non-marking tires allow it to navigate tight spaces effectively. Additionally, it is equipped to handle outdoor terrain, including sidewalks, gravel trails, and certain grassy areas.
The Companion is compatible with both rigid and folding wheelchair frames. It’s patented folding mount collapses alongside the frame without the need to remove any hardware.
