Method Mobility’s AMP Technology is a unique “roll-on” power add-on that transforms a manual wheelchair into a center-drive power chair without requiring permanent modifications or tools.
Key Technical Specifications include Range & Speed: Provides up to 11 miles (18 km) of travel on a single charge with a top speed of 4 mph (6.5 km/h); Weight Capacity: Supports users up to 300 lbs (136 kg); Unit Weight: The power module weighs less than 42 lbs (19 kg), making it portable for transport in most vehicle trunks; Battery: Utilizes a lightweight Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, which is safer and longer-lasting than traditional lead-acid options.
Core Features include Tool-Free Docking: Designed for independent use; you simply roll your manual chair onto the module to lock it in place and roll off when finished; True Center Drive: Once docked, the system uses 8” poly drive wheels located directly under the user, offering the responsive maneuverability of a dedicated power wheelchair; Control Versatility: Available with a joystick for either user or attendant control, or a hand rim-activated version that responds to light touches on the wheelchair’s existing wheels; Suspension System: Features a mechanical balancing suspension that keeps the unit aligned and stable during use.
